About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Ecological Development Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to play a significant role in the development and delivery of actions to improve biodiversity across the Borough.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute significantly to the Council's response to the Climate Emergency.
  • Provide and/or procure specialist ecological support for the management and development of sites for biodiversity, wildlife, and related issues.
  • Coordinate the work of partner organisations in relation to Bolton's greenspaces, with specific responsibility for the management of local Nature Reserves.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant ecological or environmental field.
  • Experience of managing sites for wildlife and biodiversity.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of wildlife and biodiversity issues as they relate to Local Authorities.
  • Ability to prepare, implement, and monitor management plans.
  • Enthusiasm for partnership working across the public, private, voluntary, and community sectors.
