Job Overview

As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a talented and seasoned Lead Frontend Developer to join our direct-to-consumer development team. Your primary role will involve architecting, developing, and sustaining high-quality, user-centric web applications utilizing React and associated technologies for our award-winning client-facing platforms.

You will collaborate closely with designers, backend developers, and product managers to transform our vision into reality. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to engineering excellence and a passion for precision, thriving on delivering outstanding digital experiences and taking pride in writing exceptional code.


Key Responsibilities
  • Create reusable UI components and front-end libraries for future applications.
  • Work alongside designers to convert design mock-ups and wireframes into clean, maintainable React code.
  • Enhance components for optimal performance across various devices and browsers.
  • Develop high-quality, maintainable, and efficient JavaScript code, focusing on performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with designers and backend developers to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Adopt a test-driven development approach to guarantee code quality and reliability.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in the React ecosystem.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance the user interface and user experience.
  • Lead discussions and advise teams on the best features and functionalities to improve the user journey.
  • Build strong relationships across teams, particularly within product, marketing, and content.
  • Engage in a cross-functional team environment, partnering with other members of the UX/UI team.
  • Identify and resolve bugs during development and user testing.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

Qualifications
  • Several years of experience in user-focused front-end development for enterprise-level products.
  • Strong proficiency in React, including JSX, components, state management, and routing.
  • Experience with popular React libraries and frameworks, as well as the front-end build toolchain (Webpack, Babel, etc.).
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript, HTML5, SCSS, Tailwind, Material UI, and CSS3.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG and best practices for accessibility.
  • Enjoyment in building reusable UI components and a commitment to clean code architecture.
  • Experience with design systems.
  • A meticulous approach with a keen eye for detail and a relentless pursuit of perfection.
  • A collaborative spirit, enjoying teamwork with designers and backend developers.
  • A solid understanding of UX principles and practices.
  • Expertise in creating modular and reusable components using the React framework.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to create visually appealing user flows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A passion for UX and a desire to positively impact user experiences.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with server-side rendering (SSR), Next.js, or isomorphic React.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Figma.
  • Understanding of UI/UX design principles.
