About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead UI Designer to join our team at Sanderson. As a key member of our design team, you will play a critical role in shaping the digital customer experience and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Brand CX

  • Collaborate with our central Brand team and local Marketing teams to understand brand promises and identify opportunities to deliver exceptional customer experiences across our digital products.
  • Support the Group Brand Manager in maintaining brand guidelines and ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Champion customer-centric design and user experience, ensuring that design decisions are informed by customer insight and data.
  • Work closely with Product Owners and the Digital analytics team to identify, iterate, and test UX improvements and measure their effectiveness.

Design and UI

  • Lead the visual design process from concept to final hand-off to engineers, ensuring that designs are innovative, user-centered, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain design guidelines, best practices, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across all digital products.
  • Establish and promote a design system that supports the creation of engaging and intuitive user experiences.

Prototyping

  • Design and develop prototypes to visualize new concepts and ideas, and to test and refine design solutions.
  • Obtain user feedback to improve and refine design concepts, ensuring that they meet customer needs and expectations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating UI expertise and a ability to talk through projects outlining involvement and value.
  • Prior involvement in design projects in a commercial environment.
  • Competency with industry-standard software, including Adobe XD and Figma.
  • Working knowledge of heat mapping and session recording tools used to analyze user behaviors.
  • Ability to use both quantitative and qualitative insight to inform decision-making.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively using design thinking methodology.
  • Understanding of core UI principles and how they influence and guide great UI design decisions.
