About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for two experienced individuals to join our busy Trauma & Orthopaedic team as a Service Coordinator/Team Leader. The successful candidates will be responsible for the supervision and leadership of either the Spinal Team or The Shoulder & Elbow Team within the Trauma & Orthopaedic service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality administrative support to the Management Team, including responsible administrative support in their absence.
  • Coordinate and organise the attendance of patients to outpatient, inpatient & day case appointments in line with local and national Access Policy arrangements.
  • Ensure all administrative processes and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner, following agreed standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor waiting times and ensure RTT (Referral to Treatment) pathways are accurate and up to date.
  • Book appointments from waiting lists and set up and update Clinics/Theatre Bookings as required.
  • Assist and support other members of the administrative team across the department or division, including dealing with telephone calls and resolving enquiries for patients, their carers and visitors.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and experience in dealing with patients.
  • Ability to use own initiative, prioritising workload to meet the changing needs of the department.
  • Flexible and calm approach to staff and patients, with the ability to support staff through change.
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to work well under pressure.
