Fujitsu Research of Europe (FRE) is a multidisciplinary center that combines research and industrial innovation to drive business transformation and societal impact. As a researcher in our Computing Research Group, you will be part of a dynamic team that explores the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Genomics, leveraging High Performance Computing to accelerate applications.

Your Role

As a High Performance Computing Researcher, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Code Analysis and Optimization: Analyze and profile code to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize algorithms for heterogeneous architectures.
  • Parallel and Distributed Computing: Develop and implement parallel and distributed computing techniques to accelerate large-scale graph computations.
  • Architecture Optimization: Optimize code for Fujitsu's Arm-based A64FX processor and other heterogeneous architectures.

Your Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • PhD or Post-Graduate Qualification: A doctoral degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • High Performance Computing Experience: Proven experience with High Performance Computing techniques, including MPI, OpenMP, and Intel TBB.
  • Programming Skills: High proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as C++, Python, or Java.
  • Research Publication Record: A track record of publishing research papers in reputable academic journals.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable Skills

The following skills are highly desirable:

  • Graph-Based Algorithms: Experience with Graph Neural Networks and graph-based algorithms.
  • Knowledge Graphs and Graph Databases: Familiarity with knowledge graphs and graph databases.
  • Healthcare Experience: Experience in a healthcare-related field, such as cell simulation, bioinformatics, or genomics.
