Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Capture and Management: Lead the capture and management of requirements for existing waste containers and interface equipment, ensuring alignment with client needs and industry standards.
  • Engineering Support and Guidance: Provide technical support and guidance to senior engineers and designers, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and company standards.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior engineers and designers, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Product Requirements Definition: Assist in defining product requirements, ensuring alignment with client needs and industry standards.
  • Tolerances Understanding and Guidance: Provide guidance on tolerances on interface drawings, ensuring accurate and reliable engineering outputs.
  • Document Compilation and Review: Compile and review component requirements documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Site Surveys and Reporting: Support site surveys and the production of survey reports, ensuring accurate and reliable engineering outputs.
  • Design and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis: Assist in design and process failure mode effects analysis, ensuring identification and mitigation of potential risks.
  • Drawing Review and Quality Assurance: Review and check drawings and documents for accuracy, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and company standards.
  • Lessons Learned and Best Practices Deployment: Identify and apply lessons learned from experience to enhance technical tasks and processes.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Technical Competency and Experience: High-level technical competency and significant experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Education and Qualifications: HNC (minimum) or equivalent qualification, with a strong focus on engineering and technical disciplines.
  • Innovation and Creativity: Ability to create and develop new ideas, with a strong focus on innovation and creativity in engineering and technical disciplines.
  • Project Documentation and Reporting: Experience in preparing project documentation, processes, and reports, with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication: Demonstrable success in managing stakeholders, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Drawing Standards and Technical Drawings: Strong understanding of BS8888 and ISO-GPS (ISO 8015), with the ability to check technical drawings per industry standards.
  • Engineering Background and Experience: Deep experience in design, manufacture, material selection, welding, fabrication, and machining techniques, with a strong focus on engineering and technical disciplines.
  • FMEA Knowledge and Experience: Familiarity with DFMEA and PFMEA, with experience in applying these methodologies to enhance engineering and technical processes.
  • Regulated Industries and Nuclear Sector Experience: Experienced in delivering work for highly regulated industries, with a strong focus on the nuclear sector.
  • Nuclear Design and CAD Experience: Familiarity or previous design experience with nuclear, including mechanical handling, with experience in CAD (Inventor) and other design tools.
  • Security Clearance: SC Clearance preferred or ability to obtain SC Clearance, with a strong focus on security and confidentiality.
