Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Governance, Risk, Compliance & Quality team at UK Power Networks. This role involves collaborating closely with the Quality and Assurance Manager to uphold the highest standards of quality management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide expert guidance on ISO 9001:2015 compliance to various stakeholders, including managers, contractors, and clients, throughout the project lifecycle.

2. Engage in the assessment and formulation of new and existing procedures to enhance quality processes, ensuring alignment with both corporate and project-specific standards.

3. Conduct thorough audits to monitor adherence to ISO 9001:2015 and other relevant standards, preparing detailed reports and ensuring timely resolution of any identified issues.

4. Support Project Managers by reviewing quality-related documentation and developing training materials to enhance the understanding of quality management systems among project teams.

5. Oversee the performance of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring their services meet the established quality expectations through regular audits and inspections.

6. Ensure compliance with material and equipment certification, maintaining accurate project records for final documentation.

7. Facilitate external audits by certification bodies, promoting the importance of quality management processes within the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

  • Minimum HNC qualification in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Practitioner membership of the Chartered Quality Institute, with a commitment to achieving Chartered status.
  • Experience in quality management systems within the construction sector.
  • Trained QMS Auditor with a background in ISO 9001:2015 auditing.
  • Proficient in root cause analysis.
  • Possession of necessary access passes for various UK industries.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Desirable:

  • Flexibility in work approach and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards.
  • Knowledge of additional ISO standards would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT software.
