Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the Quality and Assurance team, reporting directly to the Quality and Assurance Manager. Your primary focus will be on Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Quality within the organization.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Your expertise will be essential in providing quality management guidance to ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards. You will be involved in the assessment, auditing, certification, and management of processes related to electrical infrastructure construction projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Deliver quality management insights regarding ISO 9001:2015 to various stakeholders, including advisors, managers, and clients during both the tendering and construction phases.
  2. Participate in the evaluation and formulation of new and existing procedures, ensuring effective communication and implementation within the organization.
  3. Oversee compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and other relevant standards, conducting project audits and generating reports to address any findings promptly.
  4. Support Project Managers by reviewing quality-related documentation and developing training materials for project teams and subcontractors.
  5. Ensure that suppliers and subcontractors meet quality expectations through monitoring and conducting external audits.
  6. Verify site certification of materials and equipment, maintaining project records for compliance.
  7. Facilitate third-party audits by external certification bodies and promote quality management processes within the organization.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

As part of a leading organization in power distribution and energy solutions, you will collaborate with various teams and represent the company at operational levels with external partners.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • Minimum HNC qualification in Quality Management, Construction, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Practitioner membership of the Chartered Quality Institute, with aspirations for Chartered status.
  • Experience in quality management systems within the construction industry.
  • Trained QMS Auditor with proficiency in ISO 9001:2015 auditing.
  • Experience in root cause analysis.
  • Possession of necessary access passes for working in various UK industries.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Desirable:

  • Flexibility in work approach and ability to prioritize tasks as directed.
  • Experience in auditing to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards.
  • Knowledge of additional ISO standards would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT software packages.
