Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

Job Summary:

UK Power Networks is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Quality and Assurance team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our services and products, and contributing to the company's overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Management: Provide quality management advice to promote compliance to ISO 9001:2015 in the review, audit, certification, induction, and management of procedures and processes in electrical infrastructure construction projects.
  2. Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor compliance with ISO 9001:2015, procedures, legal and moral obligations, and national, international, and client standards. Plan project audits against agreed level 2, 3, and 4 schedules.
  3. Quality System Audits: Undertake quality management system audits, produce audit reports, and ensure findings are resolved promptly.
  4. Project Support: Assist and offer guidance to Project Managers in reviewing quality-related project documents and requirements. Develop appropriate quality management system inductions, training, and communication materials for the project team and subcontractors.
  5. Supplier Management: Provide a monitoring function to ensure that suppliers, subcontractors, and the services they provide exceed our quality management system expectations.
  6. Facilitation and Championing: Facilitate third-party audits of UK Power Networks Services by external certification bodies and champion quality management system processes in the business to ensure certification requirements are maintained.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: HNC (minimum requirement) qualification in a discipline such as Quality Management, Construction, Project Management, or Technical/Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Quality management system experience gained in the construction industry (manufacturing-based or other experience would not be suitable).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, planning, and decision-making skills at all seniority levels.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Health and Safety: Understand the health and safety risks involved in work activities and apply controls to manage those risks to acceptable levels.
