About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at UK Power Networks. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our services and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality management advice to promote compliance to ISO 9001: 2015 in the review, audit, certification, induction, and management of procedures and processes in electrical infrastructure construction projects.
  • Contribute to the review of existing and the development of new procedures/processes, including those from central UK Power Networks group and those which are UK Power Networks Services' project/contract specific.
  • Monitor compliance with ISO 9001: 2015, procedures, legal and moral obligations, and national, international, and client standards.
  • Plan project audits against agreed level 2, 3, and 4 schedules, undertake quality management system audits, produce audit reports, and ensure findings are resolved promptly.
  • Assist and offer guidance to Project Managers in reviewing quality-related project documents and requirements, develop appropriate quality management system inductions, training, and communication materials for the project team and subcontractors.
  • Provide a monitoring function to ensure that suppliers, subcontractors, and the services they provide exceed our quality management system expectations.
  • Monitor site certification of materials and equipment, including tool calibration, to ensure compliance with client and project requirements.
  • Facilitate third-party audits of UK Power Networks Services by external certification bodies.
About the Team

You will be a member of the UK Power Networks Services Quality and Assurance team, reporting to the Quality and Assurance Manager. You will work closely with management across all directorates and represent the company at operational/project level with external partners.

Requirements
  • HNC (minimum requirement) qualification in a discipline such as Quality Management, Construction, Project Management, or Technical/Engineering or equivalent.
  • Practitioner member of the Chartered Quality Institute with an aspiration to gain Chartered status.
  • Quality management system experience gained in the construction industry.
  • Trained QMS Auditor/Internal QMS Auditor with experience in auditing to ISO 9001: 2015.
  • Experience of root cause analysis.
  • Client access passes and licenses required to work within UK industries such as airports, defence, nuclear, rail, and underground rail.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • Flexible in your approach to work and prioritise as directed by the Quality and Assurance Manager and Project Manager on assigned projects or contracts.
  • Audit to ISO 14001: 2015 and ISO 45001: 2018 requirements.
  • Knowledge of ISO 55001: 2014, ISO 44001: 2017, ISO 19650-1: 2018, ISO 19650-2: 2018, ISO 19650-3: 2020, and ISO 19650-5: 2020.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, planning, and decision-making skills at all seniority levels.
  • Ability to work with IT software packages such as Microsoft office.
