About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to join our team as a Clinical Lead for the Swale Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS). This is an exciting opportunity to lead on service development and delivery, including research opportunities, and to develop partnership working with key agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on service development and delivery, including research opportunities
  • Develop partnership working with key agencies
  • Ensure the service is delivering the most clinically effective interventions in line with current research and clinical guidelines
  • Ensure the service is routinely measuring clinical outcomes and delivering evidence-based practice and auditing the service delivered
  • Ensure staff team have relevant skills and CPD, including opportunities to further their experience and training
  • Provide clinical leadership and specialist treatment and assessment within your professional sphere of expertise
  • Ensure an excellent standard of care is provided in line with trust values and CQC
About NELFT's Children & Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS)

NELFT's CYPMHS is a comprehensive service that provides support to children and young people aged 0-18, living in Kent, and up to 25 for those with special educational needs. The service is free at the point of entry and is designed to respond earlier to children and young people's needs, helping to prevent, reduce or delay the need for more specialist interventions.

Structure of Children & Young People's Mental Health Services (CYPMHS)

The service is structured into six Locality Teams, each with its own care pathways, which are clinically led and managed by care pathway leads. The care pathways include Mood and Anxiety Early Help, Complex Behavioural and Conduct, Neurodevelopmental & Learning Disability, and others.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Successful completion of a post-graduate training in psychological practice (psychologist, family therapist, child and adolescent psychotherapist)
  • To be eligible for registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body (HCPC, BACP, UKCP, AFT, ACP)
  • Extensive experience of working with moderate to profound learning disabilities, disturbed or challenging children/young people requiring skilled and complex interventions
  • Extensive experience of working therapeutically with parents/carers/families of children and young people with complex mental health problems
