About the RoleThis is a new role that reflects the institution's commitment to delivering an excellent student experience and developing good governance practices. As a Senior Quality and Governance Officer, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Quality and Standards Framework and Governance Framework.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the Quality team and collaborate with partner universities to ensure compliance with the Office for Students (OfS) Regulatory Framework.
- Develop and implement the Quality and Standards Framework and Governance Framework.
- Assist the Dean of Quality/Deputy Registrar in ensuring compliance with the OfS Regulatory Framework.
- Lead or assist in the development of quality assurance processes, including programme approval, programme review, module evaluation, continuous improvement, external examiners, and student experience surveys.
- Service committees, including writing agendas, collating papers, and ensuring that actions are completed.
- Develop expert knowledge of internal quality assurance and governance mechanisms and provide advice to colleagues.
- Develop expert knowledge of national regulation and advisory bodies, such as the Office for Students, Quality Assurance Agency, and Competition and Markets Authority.
- Write guidance documents on various themes to non-expert audiences and contribute to the writing of committee papers.
- Develop the use of qualitative and quantitative data in monitoring the performance of the ESL academic portfolio.
- Senior Officer or Managerial level of experience in Higher Education setting or similar.
- Good knowledge of external legislation, regulation, guidance in relation to Higher Education.
- Demonstrable leadership skills in a previous role.
- A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university or significant work experience relevant to the role.
- Advanced knowledge of ICT software, including Word, Excel, Adobe Pro, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in servicing meetings, including writing agendas, writing papers, minute writing, and following up on actions.
- Experience in working independently to strict deadlines.
- Experience of one or more HE QA procedures, such as programme approval, annual programme review, student surveys.
- A high attention to detail.
- (Desirable) Experience in writing documents on complex issues for a variety of audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to present complex information in simple language.
