About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Director to lead our philanthropic and supporter income growth strategy. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play a vital role in developing a long-term sustainable financial model for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to enhance support regionally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Oversee the relationship with the independent US charity RSC America and maximise opportunities provided by the RSC's globally recognised brand.
  • Recruit and renew a wide range of donors, sponsors, and partners, combining ambitious fundraising with flawless stewardship.
  • Experience of membership and/or patron schemes, sponsorship, and partnerships, with a track record of success in major gifts, trust, and foundation funding.
  • Develop and implement a diverse and inclusive fundraising strategy that aligns with the RSC's equity, diversity, justice, and inclusion priorities.
