About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Director to join our dynamic Energy and Natural Resources team in the UK, specializing in Transmission & Distribution. This is a pivotal role within our organization, supporting the crucial energy transition by leading the strategy, setup, and delivery of projects for Transmission Network Operators (TNOs), Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), and Private developers.
Our focus encompasses a wide range of projects across the energy spectrum, including substations, overhead and underground systems, and smart networks. As the UK significantly invests in technology and infrastructure to support distributed energy and the shift towards electric vehicles, your expertise will be instrumental in shaping this exciting landscape.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional leadership within a team of high-performing project specialists across diverse multi-disciplinary projects. This includes fostering team growth and supporting the development of team members.
- Manage internal project financials, resource allocation, legal coordination, and risk management effectively.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their specific needs and leading the development of tailored proposals. Cultivate your network of contacts and industry profile.
- Lead, manage, or undertake the technical development of transmission projects and packages.
About You
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong understanding of the electricity system. Your ability to develop solutions across Transmission and Distribution systems that enhance network performance in both construction and operation is crucial.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution. Educational requirements may be substituted with equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of transmission and/or distribution project experience, with at least 7 years related to project delivery experience.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills and proven stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Membership of relevant industry bodies including professional registration preferred, e.g., The IET, ICE, IMECHE
- Experience in the technical delivery of multi-disciplinary projects, whether from a consulting, utilities or contracting environment.
- Experience in client-facing roles, providing robust advice and supporting design projects through clear communication of project status, issues, and risks.
