Position Overview

Transmission, a rapidly expanding production firm in the UK, collaborates with prominent brands to create, film, and edit broadcast advertisements and social media content. We are seeking to enhance our post-production team with a Senior Video Editor.

In this role, you will oversee projects from digital ingest to final output, working on a variety of content including cinematic advertisements and showreels. As a proficient user of Adobe Premiere Pro and well-versed in After Effects, you will thrive in high-pressure situations, crafting dynamic edits while collaborating closely with directors and clients to refine the final product before preparing deliverables.

A significant aspect of this senior position involves managing the post-production process for campaigns. This includes coordinating with VFX artists, sound engineers, and colorists to ensure timely and high-quality asset delivery.

Maintaining quality control is essential, ensuring our output meets compliance standards and is devoid of errors. There will also be opportunities to expand your skill set in areas such as color grading, motion graphics, or graphic design.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years in post-production, with at least 1 year in a senior capacity.
  • Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects.
  • Solid understanding of video codecs and formats.
  • General familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Capability to create or convert projects across various formats and aspect ratios for both television and online platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while coordinating with colorists, VFX artists, and audio professionals.
  • Excellent color grading skills utilizing Lumetri and LUTs.
  • Knowledge of navigating the Clearcast process for broadcast delivery.
  • VFX skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Must be located within an hour of London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines and maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Compiling footage for external freelancers such as colorists or VFX artists and monitoring progress to ensure timely asset delivery.
  • Collaborating with the creative team to provide insights on editing techniques, including knowledge of stock libraries for footage and audio.
  • Conducting on-set digital ingest and initial logging and assembly edits.
  • Editing in collaboration with remote clients and on-set personnel.
  • Resizing and subtitling projects for social media and online platforms.
  • Managing Clearcast, PEACH, and AdSmart clocking processes.
  • Ensuring quality control for all outputs, including oversight of junior team members.
