About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Youth Support Worker to join our team at Shaw Trust. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting young people who require social, emotional, and mental health support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day care and support to young people, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Assist in daily routines, promoting a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Encourage engagement with educational support and homework, helping young people to achieve their goals.
  • Organise and participate in recreational activities, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring seamless communication with the multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference in young people's lives.
  • A willingness to work towards or current qualification in QCF level 3 in Residential Childcare.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Resilience to handle challenging situations and a positive role model with honesty and empathy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
