Internal Communications Specialist Opportunity at Sovereign Housing Association

As an Internal Communications Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our internal narrative, designing and executing communication strategies across various digital platforms that not only inform but also motivate and engage our dedicated workforce. Your efforts will significantly enhance employee engagement and organizational performance, contributing to a positive colleague experience.
By collaborating closely with our IT and Health & Safety Teams, you will be instrumental in our transformation initiatives, translating our strategic vision into compelling and engaging stories.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Leadership: Work alongside leaders to create and implement impactful communication campaigns that engage and inspire employees.

• Develop Engaging Content: Craft messages that transform employees into passionate supporters of our corporate objectives, while analyzing effectiveness to provide data-driven recommendations for enhancements. Simplify complex terminology into clear, accessible language.

• Identify Communication Opportunities: Oversee communication content across all channels, design innovative communication solutions, and lead editorial discussions to uncover opportunities within Corporate Affairs.

• Enhance Digital Communication: Partner with the Product team to improve our digital communication platforms, ensuring they are user-friendly and effectively connect our team.

• Serve as a Communication Expert: Offer strategic guidance on best practices, utilizing data insights and creative approaches. Leverage data to explore and implement innovative communication strategies. Stay informed about the challenges and trends in the social housing sector, particularly regarding communication innovations, regulations, and best practices, and share these insights with colleagues.

What We're Seeking:

• Demonstrated experience in internal communications or a related field.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.

• Strong organizational skills and effective planning for communication delivery.

• A collaborative mindset with the capacity to build relationships with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders, while effectively prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.

• Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, with strong knowledge of Microsoft products, including Viva (engage, amplify, connections, etc.), and experience in developing both classic and modern SharePoint sites to optimize news and content. Familiarity with digital newsletter tools such as Poppulo is a plus.

• Enjoys problem-solving and devising creative communication solutions when challenges arise.

• Experience in creating engaging materials – video production and editing skills are preferred but not mandatory.
