Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled computational chemist with a robust background in various methodologies, including virtual screening, molecular dynamics, and the application of machine learning (ML) models to analyze and interpret diverse project data.

This role involves collaboration within a dynamic environment, engaging with multiple teams across different locations as part of our drug discovery pipeline. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, and ambitious.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in multiple projects across various therapeutic areas, contributing at different stages from initial hit identification to lead optimization.
  • Provide computational chemistry expertise to cross-functional teams to enhance drug discovery initiatives.
  • Contribute to the advancement of computational chemistry technologies for drug discovery within the organization.
  • Develop and implement tools and workflows for extracting, integrating, analyzing, and visualizing chemical, biophysical, and ADMET data to inform project decision-making processes.
  • Support and mentor members of the discovery teams in utilizing analysis and visualization tools, as well as other aspects of computational chemistry.
Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience in the industry or postdoctoral research in computational chemistry.
  • Practical knowledge of conducting and analyzing molecular dynamics (MD) simulations using standard software such as OpenMM, AMBER, or GROMACS.
  • Experience in QSAR virtual screening, particularly with peptides.
  • Proficiency in writing analysis scripts and pipelines in common scripting languages, such as Python, in Jupyter notebooks or as standalone scripts.
  • Experience in amino acid and peptide modeling.
  • Practical knowledge of Free Energy Perturbation (FEP) calculations.
  • Familiarity with High-Performance Computing (HPC).

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of cheminformatics methods and databases.
  • Practical experience with quantum mechanical calculations (QM).
  • Skills in machine learning, deep learning, statistical modeling, and advanced data analytics.
  • Experience in drug discovery organizations.
