POSITION OVERVIEW

Wood Process & Energy is seeking a seasoned Senior C&I Engineer to contribute to our projects on a contract basis. This role supports our operations and offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility with a minimum of two days in the office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee project tasks as a Senior C&I Engineer, ensuring compliance with budgetary and scheduling requirements.
  • Conduct instrument engineering tasks including Concept, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
  • Uphold safety standards as outlined in personal performance agreements.
  • Enhance working practices and systems to foster continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to company and project Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality protocols.
  • Maintain high technical quality in all deliverables.
  • Identify and manage scope and schedule alterations in line with the Change Control Process.
  • Ensure all designs align with applicable procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Strive to complete all assigned tasks within the agreed budget and timeline.
  • Stay informed on technical advancements, national and international standards, and legislative requirements pertinent to the discipline.
  • Assist in the preparation of project estimates and timelines.
  • Foster effective communication with clients and conduct site visits as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ideal Candidate:
  • Proven experience in projects within the Energy, Chemicals, and Refining sectors.
  • Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Experience working as a Senior C&I Engineer within project teams across various industry sectors, handling small to large capital projects from inception to startup.
  • Self-motivated team player capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Expertise in developing Instrument Engineering deliverables tailored to project needs.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status with the Institute of Measurement and Control (IMC) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) is preferred.
  • Experience in specification control and safety system upgrades is advantageous.
  • Knowledge in specifying field instrumentation, analyzers, and ESD and actuated valves.
  • Experience in sizing flow devices, control valves, and relief devices.
  • Participation in HAZOP, LOPA, Alarm Reviews, and SIL Determination is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IEC 61511 Safety Lifecycle and Emergency Shutdown System architecture and design.
  • TUV or similar Functional Safety Engineer qualification is desirable.
  • Experience in specifying Fire & Gas systems and detection equipment, as well as applying BS5839-1.
  • Knowledge of IT/Telecoms/Networks/Access Control & CCTV Systems is beneficial.
  • Experience in managing instrumentation and control requirements for mechanical packages.
  • Ability to interface with Client Engineers to facilitate project execution.
  • Experience in vendor management to support project execution.
  • Sound technical background and expertise in the field.
  • Proficient in relevant codes of practice, standards, and statutory documentation.
  • Experienced in design and assessment methodologies used within the discipline.
