Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Planner to join our Production Planning Department at MacTaggart Scott. As an Operations Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes and meeting customer delivery dates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement valid operating plans for the shop floor on a weekly basis, balancing available capacity with predicted loads.
  • Communicate weekly work centre loads to shop floor supervisors and team leaders, providing detailed work centre schedules.
  • Provide guidance to shop floor supervisors and team leaders on resource allocation to achieve production plans.
  • Ensure each scheduled operation meets required due dates, aligning with higher-level schedules and customer orders.
  • Determine project activity status, expedite operations, and materials that delay schedules, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Focus on achieving invoice milestones, kitting on time, and ensuring all scheduled work is prepared for release to production complete and on time.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Excellent communication skills to convey plans and information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a methodical and organized approach.
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills, with a positive attitude and enthusiasm.
  • IT literacy, with a good understanding of Microsoft Office packages and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Ability to set and meet targets, with a commitment to excellence.
  • Good standard of secondary level education, with experience in a production or planning environment.
