Lead Nurse for Urology Outpatient Services

Position Overview
We are pleased to announce a rewarding opportunity for a skilled and dedicated professional to take on the role of Lead Nurse for the Urology Outpatient Services. This position involves overseeing the operational aspects of the outpatient clinics and collaborating closely with the Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) and their teams to provide a comprehensive Urology service.
In this leadership role, you will guide the nursing team, provide expert clinical guidance, and manage service delivery to ensure the provision of high-quality, effective, and compassionate care. Your work will align with local, Trust-wide, and national policies, procedures, values, and behaviors.
We seek a versatile manager with a proven history of leadership capabilities, enabling you to empower and support your team effectively. Previous experience in management and leadership is a critical requirement for this position, along with a background in Urology. Additional qualifications and experience in teaching or presenting are considered advantageous.
You will hold overall responsibility and accountability for all delegated nursing care within the clinical setting, ensuring nursing leadership and accountability for the experiences of patients, the public, and staff.
The Urology Outpatient Services include various clinics and CNS teams, and you will be expected to collaborate closely with all teams to foster staff development and expand the range of procedures performed. Experience in service development will be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Managing the daily operations of the Outpatient Services Clinics, with direct reporting to the Matron.
- Overseeing clinic management, including scheduling, clinician assignments, and monitoring waiting times.
- Assuming overall responsibility and accountability for all delegated nursing care within the clinical environment.
- Ensuring accountability for the experiences of patients, the public, and staff.
- Maintaining constant communication with clinicians and the operational team.
- Driving the development and expansion of the services provided.
- Facilitating staff development initiatives.
