This role is ideal for motivated, innovative, and passionate individuals eager to advance their careers in clinical research.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a distinguished multidisciplinary team across various specialties. You will oversee your own patient caseload involved in clinical trials, supported by a comprehensive research and clinical team.

In the absence of the Senior Research Nurse, you will be expected to take on additional responsibilities. While prior experience in clinical research, particularly with pharmaceutical and commercial trials, is advantageous, we provide training to enhance your skills.

Applicants should ideally possess a degree or equivalent qualification. You will adhere to established guidelines and policies governing clinical trials, ensuring exemplary standards of practice in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate flexibility and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently. Strong communication, organizational, and IT skills, along with a supportive attitude towards new initiatives, are highly valued within our team.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Clinical Research Nurse will facilitate trials from initiation to conclusion, responsible for evaluating and managing care pathways for patients and their families participating in clinical research. This includes:

  • Recruiting, educating, and monitoring research participants.
  • Collecting and accurately documenting data.

You will work closely with principal investigators and multidisciplinary team members, providing guidance and information to patients who opt to participate in clinical trials, acting as their advocate throughout the process.

A critical aspect of this role involves maintaining precise and comprehensive records of data obtained from research studies. You will ensure that all research conducted within the department prioritizes patient well-being and complies with ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.

Applicants should possess a robust set of clinical skills and demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in supporting clinical research within a hospital environment.

Proven experience in coordinating or supporting complex research studies and utilizing study intensity tools to manage workloads is essential for this position.

Effective communication skills are crucial, enabling you to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a keen attention to detail.
