Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist - Endocrinology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Endocrinology team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our endocrine services.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise in endocrinology. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with endocrine disorders, including thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of endocrine disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Conduct nurse-led clinics for patients with thyroid and calcium-related disorders
  • Undertake tests and investigations in the medical day case unit
  • Provide steroid advice and education to patients with adrenal insufficiency
  • Administer cholesterol injections and teach patients how to self-administer
  • Teach growth hormone deficiency patients how to self-administer their medication
Requirements:
  • Registered with the NMC
  • Degree in Adult Nursing or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in community, inpatient, and outpatient settings
  • Relevant clinical experience in endocrine conditions
  • Experience in relevant IT systems and work processes
  • Nurse Prescriber
  • Experience in audit and/or research
