About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead our Urology Outpatients Services at the Royal Derby Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a dynamic team of nurses and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care within a busy clinical environment.

As a key member of the Urology department, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, managing staff effectively, and fostering a collaborative working environment. Your expertise and leadership will be instrumental in driving service improvements and enhancing the patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert clinical advice and guidance to the nursing team, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
  • Manage daily clinic operations, including scheduling appointments, allocating clinicians, and monitoring waiting times.
  • Lead and motivate a team of nurses, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous professional development.
  • Collaborate closely with urology clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care pathways.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Proven track record of leadership and management experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Extensive experience working with urology patients and understanding their specific needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional registration as a nurse with relevant post-registration qualifications.
