Reports to: CLA Global CEO with a dotted line to the Chair of the Risk and Quality Committee

About CLA Global

CLA Global is a fast-growing international network of accounting and consulting firms. Since its inception, the network has been managed by the Risk and Quality Committee, comprised of representatives from member firms. The committee has ensured that members meet and maintain high-quality management standards and the highest ethical standards in the provision of international assignments.

Job Summary

We are seeking a senior, full-time individual to join the Global Office to ensure the activities of the Risk and Quality Committee continue to be delivered in an efficient and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Monitoring:
    • Review the existing ongoing quality monitoring programme and work with the Risk and Quality Committee to enhance it where appropriate
    • Take responsibility for delivery of the ongoing monitoring programme
    • Review the existing due diligence process and ensure it is aligned with the ongoing monitoring programme
    • Manage the due diligence process for applicant member firms, liaising closely with the other members of the Global Office and due diligence reviewers
  • Risk and Quality Committee:
    • Act as secretary to the Risk and Quality Committee
  • Audit Development:
    • Work with the 'Technology and Innovation' and 'Business Development and Markets' Committees to develop the audit service line to target international assignments
  • Communication and Networking:
    • Develop and maintain effective communication with technical and non-technical leaders in member firms and externally, within the profession
  • Risk Awareness:
    • Proactively identify potential risks to the network and develop and implement strategies to manage them, if appropriate
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Collate and share best practice and thought leadership from member firms in relation to audit, ethical, accounting, and quality matters
    • Organise events (virtual, hybrid, and in-person) to share knowledge and best practice
    • Design, implement, and manage a technical service desk for smaller members to benefit from advice of larger members
    • Manage the network's upcoming entry into the Forum of Firms and attend relevant meetings on behalf of the network
Requirements

Qualifications: ACA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification

Experience: Strong working knowledge of International Standards on Auditing, ISQM, IFRS, and the IESBA Code of Ethics

Skills: Experience of leading quality reviews, ideally in an international environment; experience of managing risk, both identifying potential issues and developing appropriate responses; ability to design and deliver presentations, including technical training; proficient English language skills
