Role Summary

The primary objective of this position is to guarantee that all Rope Access operations are executed safely and effectively, adhering to both company and statutory regulations. Additionally, this role involves performing or assisting with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and visual inspections as required.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Oversee and guide rope access personnel to ensure operational effectiveness while implementing appropriate safety standards and quality control measures in Rope Access tasks, in accordance with Oceaneering protocols.
  • Ensure the work environment is secure for conducting NDT and Rope Access activities.
  • Continuously seek improvements to existing safe systems and work methodologies.
  • Maintain relationships with current and prospective clients to promote the company's interests.
  • Ensure that rope access equipment is maintained and that certifications are current.
  • Upon returning to Stores or at the end of a trip, all equipment must be cleaned and documented.
  • When working on an ongoing contract, ensure equipment is left in a clean and organized state for the incoming Level 3 technician, verified against the site equipment log.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork in the Rope Access work pack, ensuring it is read, filled out, signed, and returned to operations upon project completion.
  • Conduct risk assessments and take necessary actions as required.
  • Utilize the most effective NDT techniques for inspecting components.
  • Ensure inspections are performed within the parameters of applicable specifications.
  • Conduct function tests on NDT equipment according to procedures and report any faulty equipment.
  • Evaluate test results in accordance with relevant specifications.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports detailing inspection methods, results, and any applicable limitations or restrictions.
  • Complete work efficiently and in a timely manner to meet deadlines, adapting to changing priorities as necessary.

Qualifications

Required

  • IRATA Level 3 certification (minimum).
  • ASNT/PCN Level 2 or CSWIP Visual Inspection certification.
  • Valid Passport.
  • Site CCNSG Safety Passport.

Desired

  • ASNT/PCN Levels 1 or 2 in one or more disciplines (MPI / DPI / UT / ECI / RAD).
  • Radiography Assistant training.
  • Confined Space Entry training.
  • ASNT/PCN Radiological Protection Supervision (RPS).
