About Us:
Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service (SFRS) is in search of a proficient and driven ICT Engineer to enhance our ICT, Strategy & Intelligence Department (SID). This role presents a remarkable opportunity to engage in a vibrant setting and play a vital role in delivering technical support across the organization.

Key Details:

Hours: 37 hours per week (Green Book) - Flexible working arrangements available. Location: Headquarters of SFRS.

Role Overview: The ICT Engineer will be an integral part of the service desk team, responsible for overseeing and ensuring effective technical support throughout the organization. This position entails providing both first and second-line assistance.

Key Duties:

Deliver first and second-level support for all ICT resources, including fault detection, reporting, escalation, and coordination with external contractors for prompt resolution. Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with senior stakeholders and third-party contractors, ensuring clear communication and effective issue resolution. Remain informed about current and emerging technologies, shaping user requirements, and collaborating with the technical team on ongoing and future projects. Offer high-level technical advice and guidance to Managers, assessing infrastructure and system proposals, and ensuring adherence to technical standards. Analyze user requirements, develop project proposals, and communicate work schedules for both internal and external stakeholders.

Person Specification: Qualifications/Experience:

HNC in a computer-related field or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a technology-focused environment. Familiarity with the development and implementation of both front-end and back-end systems. Understanding of voice and data networking solutions.

Knowledge & Skills:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft operating systems and software. Extensive knowledge of available hardware solutions, including servers, PCs, and printers. Previous experience with 'thin client' technology and Cisco Networking Systems for an integrated IP infrastructure.

Manual Handling. Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills. Effective time management abilities. Logical thinker with a keen attention to detail. Capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Self-motivated with the ability to influence and inspire others. Valid Driving Licence.
