Key Responsibilities

As a Technical Support Specialist, your primary duties will include second-line troubleshooting and support. You will document, resolve, and communicate the status of incidents to clients while coordinating with hardware vendors for repairs.

Core Duties:

  • Conduct second-line diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Resolve and finalize incidents/service requests in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
  • Document relevant incident/service request information in the IT service management tool.
  • Maintain communication with clients regarding the status of incidents.
  • Ensure that all tickets are updated until resolution is achieved.
  • Adhere to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards and IT policies.
  • Coordinate with clients, IT support teams, and third-party service providers as needed.
  • Oversee the staging of computers.
  • Manage the installation, relocation, addition, and modification of end-user hardware (including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and telecommunication devices).
  • Perform maintenance and support for hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to PCs and VIP requests.
  • Assist with IT security matters and virus remediation.
  • Create and maintain documentation for the scope of work.
  • Ensure coverage for special events and support for meeting room and communication devices.
  • Manage centralized hardware and spare parts inventory, along with local site asset management.
  • Oversee stock management.
  • Provide break-fix services to smaller sites, utilizing shipping options for device exchanges or loaner PCs.
  • Coordinate with hardware vendors for repair services.

Candidate Profile

Essential Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware.
  • Proficient in Windows 10, Windows 11, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of operational processes and service delivery.
  • Experience with software installation and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Service Now).
  • Knowledge of Windows system administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of hardware, operating systems, and software for laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Experience supporting computer peripherals such as printers and scanners.
  • Basic understanding of active directory and networking.

  • Strong customer service orientation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Adaptability and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in English, with knowledge of local languages being advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with Mac OS is a plus.
