Job Description

**Financial Planning Analyst**

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Planning Analyst to join our team at Thames Water. As a Financial Planning Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our annual planning, forecasting, and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning: Support in specific aspects of the financial reporting cycle with a critical evaluation lens applied; including Budgeting, Forecasting, and Planning cycles.
  • Financial Reporting: Develop and implement analytical standards for reporting and modelling KPIs with a view to automation.
  • Internal Control Framework: Support in establishing and maintaining internal control framework.
  • Financial Advice: Provide advice and guidance on all financial reporting matters.
  • Ad Hoc Requests: Respond to ad hoc requests for analytics, through the agreed demand management framework to provide support to business partners for costs visibility, business case preparation, and investigation into financial performance.
  • External Reporting: Monitoring of external reporting requirements and researching accounting issues to help drive business efficiencies.

Requirements:

  • Accounting Qualification: Accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, CMA, CHAE or equivalent).
  • Experience with SAP: Experience with SAP.
  • Modelling and Database Skills: Strong modelling and solid database skills.
  • Planning Systems and Reporting Technology: Experience with planning systems and reporting technology.
  • Financial and Analytical Experience: Financial and analytical experience.

  • Competitive Salary: Competitive salary from £55,000 - £62,500 per annum, depending on experience.
