Role Overview: As an Insurance Market Specialist, you will collaborate with the Manager to cultivate relationships with new markets, enhancing our offerings in terms of additional perils, coverages, and capacity. Your role will also involve sustaining active partnerships with external brokers, including domestic firms, Excess & Surplus Lines companies, specialty insurers, and London-based markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with FM clients and prospects to deliver insights on global insurance markets, offering strategic advice on program structuring and market strategies that align with client needs.
  • Provide innovative solutions to clients and account teams regarding necessary perils, coverages, and capacity to fulfill their insurance program requirements.
  • Conduct periodic visits to FM operations and clients to foster business development and effectively engage with management at all levels.
  • Maintain an active portfolio of business to ensure a steady flow of premium and commission income for FM and associated external markets.
  • Deliver training and support to brokers and support personnel as required.
  • Market and secure coverages and capacity in a professional and effective manner.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and uphold necessary licensing standards.
  • Exhibit consistent superior performance and leadership in all responsibilities, operating with a high degree of autonomy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; an MBA is advantageous.
  • Over 10 years of experience in insurance, reinsurance, or brokerage roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of property insurance.
  • Strong marketing skills for effective client interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex insurance programs with external markets.
  • Understanding of internal operations.
  • Sales proficiency across markets, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficient in computer applications and supporting software.
