Facilities Compliance Auditor and Administrative Coordinator

Position Overview
The role involves collaborating within a team to conduct thorough waste assessments.
Responsibilities include compiling and reporting data to the Waste Manager, service users, and colleagues within the Facilities Team and across the organization.
Additionally, this position provides administrative assistance to the Waste Manager.
This role encompasses hours spread over five days.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct waste assessments throughout various departments in accordance with the National Health Technical Memorandum 07-01, which outlines the Safe and Sustainable Management of Healthcare Waste.
Gather data from waste assessments and input it into Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Prepare audit reports and engage in discussions regarding findings, including addressing any issues or concerns identified during the assessments with the management team for the respective areas.

We operate across three primary hospitals, providing a range of healthcare services, including Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, and Westmorland General Hospital, along with several community healthcare facilities.
Our hospitals offer comprehensive services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various Consultant-led services.
We also provide a variety of planned care services, including outpatient care, diagnostics, therapies, day case, and inpatient surgeries, alongside local outreach services from community facilities.
Our community services aim to support individuals in their homes, community centers, clinics, and hospitals, focusing on promoting independence, improving health, and managing conditions through high-quality care and support.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Strong educational background, including GCSEs in English and Mathematics.
- Familiarity with administrative or clerical systems and processes.
- Proficient in IT systems.
- Prior experience in auditing.
Desirable
- ECDL or a recognized typing qualification or relevant experience.
- NVQ Level 2 in administration or equivalent.
Skills and Competencies
Essential
- Understanding of HTM 07-01 Safe Management of Healthcare Waste.
- Demonstrated clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to exercise tact and diplomacy.
- General computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to follow instructions and procedures effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Desirable
