Job Summary

The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team in the Cambridge Human Immunology Platform (CHIP). As a Research Assistant, you will play a key role in undertaking cell processing and phenotyping for CHIP, working closely with the NIHR Cambridge BRC Cell Phenotyping Hub.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake cell processing and phenotyping for CHIP, adhering to quality-assured processes and procedures.
  • Support operations through general laboratory duties and daily work of CHIP.
  • Collaborate with the NIHR Cambridge BRC Cell Phenotyping Hub to provide services including cell and tissue processing, cell sorting, cell and tissue imaging, and cell phenotyping.
  • Contribute to the growth of the range of studies that CHIP supports, with opportunities to gain in-depth experience in phenotyping and cytomics.

Requirements

  • Experience in cellular, immunological, and molecular methods.
  • Qualification (BSc level or equivalent) in a relevant scientific subject.
  • Experience of scientific work in a biomedical laboratory, preferably in CL2 laboratories and/or those following quality-assured processes.
  • Ability to learn advanced technologies, operate complex biomedical equipment, and trouble-shoot problems.
  • Team ability, flexible approach to work, and readiness to work to the lab operational pattern.
