Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Community Rowing Instructor to enhance our Leisure program.

Reporting Structure:

This role reports directly to the Head of Rowing.

Contract Type:

Permanent, Part-Time, requiring 15 hours of work per week.

Compensation:

Salary is £33,536, pro-rated for part-time work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the maintenance of rowing equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate service records for all equipment.
  • Oversee the upkeep of the indoor rowing tank.
  • Ensure the servicing of rowing machines is conducted appropriately.
  • Support facility management, including health and safety assessments.
  • Coach a diverse range of rowing sessions for both adults and juniors, catering to various skill levels.
  • Design and implement training sessions tailored to the participants' needs.
  • Keep attendance records and monitor individual progress.
  • Deliver structured sessions that promote skill development.

General Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management to identify personal development needs.
  • Adhere to Enable's codes of conduct, including data protection and health and safety policies.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within the workplace.
  • Foster a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection laws.
  • Understand safeguarding principles related to vulnerable groups.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support team objectives.
  • Assist with Enable-hosted events and activities.

Candidate Profile:

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in rowing.
  • Understanding of rowing techniques and coaching methodologies.
  • Experience coaching groups of varying sizes and abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience managing group dynamics to ensure inclusive sessions.
  • Awareness of safeguarding issues relevant to the role.
  • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance.
  • Possession of a Level 2 NGB qualification in rowing or working towards it.
  • Level 2 RYA powerboat qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
