About the Role
As a Senior Product Manager at Sainsbury's, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our commercial offerings. Our organization operates on a multi-channel, multi-brand model, catering to millions of customers daily. With the UK's largest loyalty program and a dynamic set of commercial platforms, we handle over 1.2 billion transactions annually, providing a unique and complex data landscape.

Your Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of both new and existing commercial products within various capability domains, including supplier and assortment management.
  • Collaborate with commercial and technical stakeholders to communicate and execute our vision, ensuring alignment with product goals and metrics.
  • Lead an agile engineering team alongside an Engineering Manager, guiding the development of Commercial Food roadmaps and managing project progress effectively.
  • Coordinate with other product teams and experience design to launch new products and enhance customer satisfaction continuously.
  • Analyze market trends and technological advancements to articulate the business benefits of current and potential products, focusing on cost reduction and quality enhancement.
  • Engage with third-party software partners for build and buy initiatives, leveraging both external and internal development capabilities.

About You
  • Possess a solid understanding of the retail business and technology landscape, maximizing the value of commercial products.
  • Have a clear grasp of Agile methodologies and modern engineering practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of product development principles and methodologies.
  • Exhibit a growth mindset, drive, and determination in your work.
  • Show sound judgment in making complex decisions swiftly, even in ambiguous situations.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and a passion for driving change through technology and collaboration.
  • Contribute actively to team efforts, fostering effective collaboration across various functions.
