About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Charge Nurse to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our senior nursing team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients and supporting the clinical and managerial leadership of the ward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support junior staff to deliver person-centered care, promoting recovery and independence.
  • Develop and implement safe and therapeutic observations policies, ensuring the well-being of patients and staff.
  • Conduct individual risk assessments and risk manage, ensuring the safety of patients and staff.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and leadership to staff at Band 2 to 5, promoting professional development and growth.
  • Formulate and document plans of nursing care, working in partnership with patients, carers, and families.
  • Evaluate and document the outcomes of nursing interventions, ensuring continuous improvement and quality care.
  • Lead on safeguarding and duty of candor procedures, ensuring that own practice and that of junior staff remains within legal, ethical, and professional parameters.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with a minimum of 6 months post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in Forensic/Prison settings, with a strong understanding of relational security and risk assessment.
  • Pre-admission assessment skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
