About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Charge Nurse to join our Trauma Informed Service team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our senior nursing team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients and supporting the clinical and managerial leadership of the ward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support junior staff to deliver person-centered care, promoting recovery and independence in a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Develop and implement effective governance and high-performance standards, ensuring the delivery of a deliverable vision for the ward.
  • Collaborate with clinicians to review physical health needs of patients, developing services that meet their needs through evidence-based practice.
  • Work with medical and nursing staff to ensure that the team is assessing and escalating patients in line with physical healthcare policy.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operational Procedures for the clozapine clinic, ensuring the service is evidence-based and reflects recent research.
  • Assist in completing audits to check compliance with policies and advise on action plans arising from findings.
  • Support students within the clinical areas in relation to physical healthcare.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with a minimum of 6 months post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in Forensic/Prison setting, with a desire to work in a Trauma Informed Service.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop junior staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
