About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Charge Nurse to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our forensic services team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting junior staff to deliver high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support junior staff to deliver person-centered care, promoting recovery and independence for patients.
  • Develop and implement care plans in partnership with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to ensure effective care delivery, including physical health needs and medication management.
  • Provide supervision, mentorship, and leadership to junior staff, promoting their professional development and well-being.
  • Engage with patients in group activities, promoting social inclusion and community access.
  • Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with a minimum of 6 months post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in forensic or prison settings, with a strong understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, promoting a culture of safety and respect.
