Company Overview

A prominent manufacturing organization is seeking a Spanish-speaking Technical Support Specialist. This role is particularly suited for individuals with a background in full-time field service who are looking for an in-house opportunity.

The company employs approximately 130 individuals across the UK, USA, and Europe, with 115 staff members based in the UK. They are well-regarded for their low employee turnover, attributed to their positive work environment and commitment to career development rather than merely filling positions.

Comprehensive training is provided to all employees. You will receive in-house training in production to familiarize yourself with the product range and understand the flow of materials from receipt to assembly (both electrical/electronic and mechanical), testing (including system testing, analysis, and troubleshooting), and dispatch.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customer support via telephone, email, or other available technologies, addressing customer issues in a logical and composed manner.
  • Conduct advanced remote fault diagnosis using specialized monitoring tools.
  • Perform electrical fault diagnosis, interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and circuit diagrams with a logical approach.
  • Execute mechanical fault diagnosis, understanding 2D and 3D mechanical drawings, measurements, and tolerances.
  • Utilize software knowledge to communicate effectively with others for remote operations.
  • Manage spare parts administration, identifying required components, generating quotes, and converting them into orders.
  • Brief service technicians prior to scheduled tasks, coordinating with them on-site regarding faults, installations, and service visits.
  • Collect commissioning information and release codes, ensuring the database is updated accordingly.
  • Leverage language skills to communicate with relevant customers as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualifications (City & Guilds Level 1, 2, & 3, HNC/HND, or NVQ Level 2 or above).
  • Prior experience in electrical fault diagnosis (either on-site or remotely).
  • Strong customer service communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and confident, with the ability to resolve issues effectively.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
  • Fluent in Spanish and possess clear, fluent English, including technical vocabulary.

Desirable Skills
  • Experience in field service (traveling for work within the UK or internationally).
  • Proficiency in additional foreign languages (preferably Portuguese, German, French, or Italian).
  • Familiarity with PCBs & PLCs (including program uploads and fault record interrogation).
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (preferably Dynamics 365).
  • Valid manual driving license.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
