Manager of Registered Services - Supported Living for Individuals with Learning Disabilities

Location: Bedford - Rated 'Outstanding' by CQC

Compensation: OTE up to £45,000, with a base salary ranging from £35,000 to £40,000 plus a performance bonus of 12.5%

This is a remarkable opportunity to take on the role of Registered Manager for one of our CQC-rated 'Outstanding' facilities in Bedford.

Are you a seasoned Registered Manager with experience overseeing multiple locations, seeking a fresh and rewarding challenge? Do you possess strong knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support and a proven track record of empowering staff to excel under pressure? If so, this role is designed for you. You will not only manage some of Glenholme's most successful establishments but also have the chance to grow alongside us as we expand and open new services.

As the Registered Manager, your responsibilities will include supervising the daily operations of two Supported Living facilities in Bedford - Warwick Manor and Shakespeare House, which are conveniently located near each other. The clientele consists of individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and complex needs.

Warwick Manor is a beautifully restored period property, fully refurbished in 2018. Each resident enjoys their own well-appointed studio or one-bedroom apartment, promoting greater independence and the development of life skills. The service also provides access to generous gardens and a welcoming communal flat where residents can socialize or receive additional support around the clock.

Shakespeare House is a recently refurbished detached home, completed in 2020, featuring five spacious rooms. This home is specifically designed to support individuals with learning disabilities, offering a warm communal lounge, an extended kitchen, ensuite bathrooms, and ample gardens, along with sensory and relaxation activity rooms. Shakespeare House aims to facilitate residents in exploring pathways to greater independence through an intensive supported living care model.

Both facilities are situated in a tranquil residential area of Bedford, close to various shops, cafes, restaurants, entertainment options, and community activities, including swimming and numerous parks. Transport links are readily available, ensuring that service users can establish positive connections with the local community.

Your Responsibilities as a Registered Manager:

  • Oversee the operational management of the home.
  • Develop, supervise, and manage staff performance.
  • Respond to referrals and conduct initial assessments of needs.
  • Create support plans with clear goals and expected outcomes for service users.
  • Coordinate person-centered reviews.
  • Collaborate closely with local multi-disciplinary teams and community agencies.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and environmental conditions.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Encourage service user engagement, involvement, and peer support.
  • Stay updated with legislation and ensure staff are adequately trained for their roles.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experienced in learning disabilities care, ideally with Positive Behaviour Support training.
  • Proven management experience.
  • Demonstrates a caring and professional ethos.
  • Prepared to register with the CQC and comply with regulations.
  • Minimum of three years' experience working with individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Relevant care qualification (such as RMN/Dip SW, degree, or NVQ Level 4/5).
  • Able to collaborate effectively with service users, families, professionals, and colleagues.
  • Experience in supervising and supporting staff.
  • Knowledge and skills for safe medication management.
