Registered Care Manager - Supported Living Services for Individuals with Learning Disabilities

Salary: OTE up to £45,000, base salary of £35,000 - £40,000 plus 12.5% performance bonus

This is a remarkable opportunity to take on the role of Registered Care Manager for one of our CQC-rated "Outstanding" services in Bedford.

Are you a seasoned Registered Care Manager with experience across multiple locations, seeking a fresh and stimulating challenge? You will manage some of Glenholme's most successful services while having the chance to grow alongside us as we expand with new openings.

As the Registered Care Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of two Supported Living services in Bedford. The client group consists of individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and complex needs.

Warwick Manor is a beautifully restored period property, fully refurbished in 2018. Each resident enjoys their own well-appointed studio or one-bedroom apartment, promoting independence and the development of life skills. The service also provides access to generous gardens and a welcoming communal flat for socialization or additional support.

Shakespeare House is a fully renovated detached home completed in 2020, featuring five spacious rooms. This home is specifically designed to support individuals with learning disabilities, offering a warm communal lounge, an extended kitchen, ensuite bathrooms, and generous gardens, along with sensory and relaxation activity rooms. Shakespeare House aims to guide residents along the care pathway towards greater independence, delivering an intensive supported living model of care.

Both services are located in a serene residential area of Bedford, close to shops, cafes, restaurants, and community activities, including swimming and beautiful parks. Transport links are readily available, ensuring service users can foster positive connections within the local community.

The Role: As a Registered Care Manager, you will report to the Regional Operations Manager and be responsible for:

  • Operational management of the services
  • Development, supervision, and performance management of staff
  • Responding to referrals and conducting initial assessments of needs
  • Creating support plans with clear goals and expected outcomes for service users
  • Coordinating person-centered reviews
  • Collaborating with local multi-disciplinary teams and community-based agencies
  • Maintaining high standards of environmental safety and quality
  • Providing a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere
  • Facilitating service user engagement and peer support
  • Staying updated with legislation and ensuring staff are adequately trained for their roles

As a Registered Care Manager, you will:

  • Be an experienced practitioner in learning disabilities, ideally with Positive Behaviour Support training
  • Have a proven management background
  • Demonstrate a caring and professional ethos
  • Be prepared to register with the CQC and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Possess a minimum of three years' experience working with individuals with learning disabilities
  • Hold a relevant care qualification (such as RMN/Dip SW, degree, or NVQ Level 4/5)
  • Collaborate effectively with service users, families, professionals, and colleagues
  • Supervise and support staff effectively
  • Ensure safe management and administration of medication
