About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Custody Nurse to join our team at HCRG Care Group. As a Custody Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare to individuals detained by the police or other agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and provide care to individuals in custody, assessing their fitness for detention, interview, release, or transfer.
  • Provide healthcare interventions to manage minor illnesses or injuries and take appropriate actions, referring onwards for more serious conditions.
  • Undertake forensic examinations of individuals in police care, recording and documenting injuries and collecting DNA evidence as required.
  • Support the clinical governance agenda of the organization, ensuring the highest standards of care and patient safety.
  • Administer medications through PGDs and PTPs, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.

Requirements

  • 2 years' minimum experience as a nurse or healthcare professional
  • Confidence and ability to make quick decisions in a dynamic environment
