About the Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Substance Misuse Nurse Specialist to join our team at Change Grow Live. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals struggling with substance misuse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical and mental health assessments for individuals accessing our services, identifying areas of need and developing effective care plans.
  • Provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses, including Hepatitis B vaccinations as required.
  • Contribute to our Naloxone Strategy by training staff and service users in the use of Naloxone, ensuring its safe distribution and use.
  • Develop strong therapeutic relationships with individuals, fostering trust and empowering them to achieve their goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines, protocols, and best practices, ensuring our services are evidence-based and of the highest quality.
  • Provide harm reduction advice and support to injecting service users, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records, ensuring our services meet contractual, administrative, and financial requirements.
About You

Requirements:

  • First-level registered nurse with recent relevant post-qualification experience and a current PIN.
  • Relevant recent experience working within drug and alcohol treatment (desirable but not essential).
  • Sound knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
  • Ability to assess and recovery plan service users, formulating written reports as necessary.
  • Clinical auditing skills to inform service evaluation and identify areas for development.
  • Professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude towards service users and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of professional integrity in relationships with service users, peers, and other professionals.
