Cleaning Operations Supervisor

Job Objective:
Responsible for overseeing the effective provision of cleaning services and related functions, executed through direct workforce and/or external partners.
Inspire team members to achieve their maximum potential while ensuring that work delivered aligns with contractual commitments and contributes to the ongoing enhancement of services. Actively engage in fulfilling designated responsibilities while maintaining a positive leadership style. Key Responsibilities:Team Management
Supervise the cleaning personnel, fostering a culture of high employee involvement and alignment with overall organizational goals. Assist the Line Manager in adhering to company Policies and Procedures, including but not limited to recruitment, staff scheduling, performance management, absence management, training and development, appraisals, and payroll. Conduct regular team meetings with all direct reports to facilitate open communication and feedback regarding service delivery, resources, health and safety, etc. Vendor Management Assess the performance of subcontractors while on-site. Financial Oversight Manage inventory control. Client Relations Engage with client activities and, when necessary, participate in client meetings. Collaborate with all stakeholders and colleagues in a partnership-oriented manner. Performance Monitoring Compile data for monthly KPI/SLA reports as required. Take part in audit programs and inspections. Innovative Practices Generate innovative cleaning solutions to improve and/or modify the working environment. Service Management Ensure the implementation and maintenance of procedures and systems essential for delivering comprehensive cleaning services across our locations. Organize, prepare, and execute tasks within the contract scope. Notify the Line Manager of any service deficiencies. Monitor and document the servicing and maintenance requirements for all cleaning machinery and equipment. Respond promptly to service requests. Provide proactive updates on work activities. Assist in managing team resources to ensure coverage during holidays and sickness, guaranteeing uninterrupted service delivery. Health and Safety Compliance Oversee and maintain staff training records and deliver Health and Safety Toolbox Talks. Regularly update COSHH materials. Ensure adherence to agreed Risk Assessments and Method Statements for cleaning operations. Confirm that all staff are equipped with the necessary PPE to perform their duties and conduct regular audits. Ensure that appropriate governance is established, allowing all employees to work safely, in compliance with all statutory regulations and company policies.Candidate Profile
Required Skills: We seek a motivated, confident, and capable individual to lead the cleaning teams. Availability to cover the period from 09:00 - 15:00 before the main cleaning staff commence their shifts. The ideal candidate will be able to direct staff and the afternoon/evening supervisor in their daily tasks. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be self-driven. Proficient in IT. Strong communication skills (both written and spoken) to ensure staff safety. Positive leadership approach. Flexibility to adapt to service demands.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the cleaning industry at a supervisory level or higher. Experience in team supervision. IOSH Working Safely certification. Any recognized industry training or qualifications.Employee Benefits
