The Cleaning Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the effective execution of cleaning services and related activities, managed through direct personnel and/or external partners.
This role involves motivating team members to achieve their maximum potential while ensuring that work performed aligns with contractual requirements and contributes to the ongoing enhancement of services. The supervisor will actively engage in fulfilling designated responsibilities and consistently exhibit a positive leadership style. Key Responsibilities:Team Management
Supervise the cleaning crew, fostering a culture of high employee involvement and alignment with overall organizational goals. Assist the Line Manager in adhering to company Policies and Procedures, which encompass recruitment, staff scheduling, performance management, absence control, training and development, appraisals, and payroll. Conduct regular team meetings with direct reports to facilitate open communication regarding service delivery, resources, health and safety, and more. Vendor Management Assess the performance of subcontractors while they are on-site. Financial Oversight Manage inventory control effectively. Client Relations Engage with client activities and, when necessary, participate in client meetings. Collaborate with all stakeholders and colleagues to promote a partnership-oriented approach. Performance Monitoring Collect data for monthly KPI/SLA reports as required. Take part in audit programs and inspections. Innovative Practices Generate innovative cleaning solutions to improve and/or modify the working environment. Service Management Ensure the implementation and maintenance of procedures and systems essential for delivering comprehensive cleaning services across our sites. Plan, prepare, and execute tasks within the scope of contracts. Notify the Line Manager of any service deficiencies. Monitor and document the servicing and maintenance needs of all cleaning machinery and equipment. Respond promptly to service requests. Provide proactive updates on work activities. Assist in managing team resources to ensure coverage for holidays and sickness, guaranteeing uninterrupted service delivery. Health and Safety Compliance Oversee and maintain training records for staff and deliver Health and Safety Toolbox Talks. Regularly update and record COSHH materials. Ensure adherence to established Risk Assessments and Methods Statements for cleaning operations. Confirm that all staff are equipped with the necessary PPE to perform their duties and conduct regular audits. Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.Candidate Profile
Required Skills: A motivated, confident, and capable individual to lead the cleaning teams. Availability to cover the period from 09:00 to 15:00 before the main cleaning staff commence their shifts. The ideal candidate will effectively direct staff and the afternoon/evening supervisor in their daily tasks. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate self-motivation. Proficient in IT. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to ensure staff safety. A positive leadership approach. Flexibility to adapt to service needs.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the cleaning industry at a supervisory level or higher. Background in team supervision. IOSH Working Safely certification. Any recognized industry training or qualifications.Company Commitment
