Position Overview
Lloyd's is looking for a Manager of Operational Risk to play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of our risk framework. This position is crucial for ensuring that the significant risks facing Lloyd's are comprehensively understood and effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and operate the framework for identifying, assessing, and monitoring operational risks, focusing on people, processes, systems, and external factors.
- Provide thorough oversight and constructive challenge to functions responsible for managing operational risks, recommending enhancements to the control environment as necessary.
- Conduct strategic reviews of key risk areas and report findings to senior management as needed.
- Support Lloyd's in regulatory engagements concerning operational risks, particularly those related to operational resilience.
- Collaborate with executive management to ensure that Lloyd's operational resilience aligns with the risk appetite set by the Council, maintaining the ability to deliver essential services and meet regulatory obligations.
- Prepare and present regular reports to management and relevant governance bodies, including the Risk Committee.
- Engage with various stakeholders across Lloyd's to collect, evaluate, and communicate critical risk information.
- Generate regular and ad hoc reports to provide risk committees with necessary management information for assessing risk exposures.
- Respond promptly to requests from senior leadership regarding ad hoc projects.
- Support the broader Risk & Regulatory Function in addressing risks and challenges arising from Lloyd's risk profile.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in a high-performing team focused on successful risk management outcomes.
- Proficiency in managing complex stakeholder communications and negotiations.
- Experience in engaging with senior stakeholders, including those who may be challenging.
- Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, tools, and processes.
- Familiarity with the insurance industry and the Lloyd's market is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of business operations, processes, and associated risks, including those related to personnel, processes, and technology.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills to cultivate relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
