Job Title: Therapeutic Practitioner for Adult Care
Location: Telford and Wrekin
Duration of Assignment: 3 months ongoing
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £34.00 per hour
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Job Purpose:

  • Support the Council in fulfilling its statutory obligations for adult assessments with an emphasis on prevention and well-being as outlined in relevant legislation.
  • Implement strategies to avert the escalation of needs and promote independence.
  • Advise on and facilitate the provision of equipment and modifications to living spaces.
  • Engage therapeutically with adults to address various challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload and conduct assessments, including complex cases and necessary housing modifications.
  • Identify risks, develop care plans, and collaborate effectively with families and partner organizations.
  • Deliver Occupational Therapy interventions aimed at delaying or reducing needs.
  • Participate in team meetings to support professional growth and contribute to training initiatives.
  • Oversee and delegate tasks to support staff.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality and cost-effective services.
  • Engage in preventative measures and assist in informed decision-making for adults, families, and caregivers.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, prepare reports, and uphold principles of equality and safety in all tasks.
  • Stay informed on current Occupational Therapy practices, legislation, and evidence-based approaches.


Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in line with HCPC standards.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in adult and elderly Occupational Therapy, including assessment, prevention, and intervention.
  • Strong decision-making skills in care matters involving diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act.
  • Understanding of current government policies and regulations concerning housing for adults and the elderly.
