Job Purpose:

  • Support the delivery of statutory responsibilities for adult assessments, emphasizing prevention and well-being in accordance with established care standards.
  • Implement strategies to avert the escalation of needs and promote independence among clients.
  • Recommend, demonstrate, and facilitate the use of assistive equipment and necessary housing modifications.
  • Engage therapeutically with adults to address various challenges.

Major Tasks:

  • Manage a diverse caseload and conduct thorough assessments, including complex cases and housing modifications.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, develop comprehensive care plans, and collaborate effectively with families and partner organizations.
  • Provide Occupational Therapy interventions aimed at delaying or reducing client needs.
  • Participate in team meetings to support professional growth and contribute to training initiatives.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to unqualified staff members.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality and cost-effective services.
  • Engage in preventative work and support informed decision-making by clients, families, and caregivers.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, prepare reports, and promote equality and safety in all activities.
  • Stay informed on Occupational Therapy issues, relevant legislation, and evidence-based practices.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in line with HCPC guidelines.

Experience:

  • Experience in providing Occupational Therapy services to adults and older individuals, including assessment, prevention, and intervention.
  • Strong decision-making skills in care-related issues, particularly with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act.
  • Understanding of current government policies and legislation regarding housing for adults and older individuals.
