ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Integral member of the Downstream Facultative Reinsurance team.
  • Collaborates with colleagues across various teams to devise and implement effective broking strategies tailored to clients' facultative reinsurance needs.
  • Engages with reinsurance markets to negotiate terms, pricing, and coverage, ensuring optimal results for clients by leveraging global markets.
  • Builds and nurtures strong business relationships with clients.
  • Assists in identifying and developing new business opportunities, both for third-party and internal business.
  • Adheres to company procedures and compliance requirements while maintaining thorough documentation and communication.
  • Mentors junior team members, sharing technical expertise to foster their professional growth.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A motivated individual with approximately 5 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance, eager to join a leading broking team.
  • In-depth knowledge of the London and international markets, including competitor awareness and cultural insights.
  • Expertise in specific product areas and a comprehensive understanding of policy wordings.
  • Demonstrates strong technical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure to obtain quotations within strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • A collaborative team player with a commitment to shared objectives.
  • Solid understanding of team goals and the contribution of individual roles.
  • Strong grasp of company policies and procedures.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • A levels.
  • Higher education degree and/or relevant professional qualifications are preferred but not mandatory.
  • ACII qualification or progress towards it, or equivalent knowledge through experience.
