Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmaceutical Care Specialist to join our compassionate team at HCRG Care Group.

In this pivotal role within our healthcare service, you will contribute to the provision of exceptional pharmaceutical care to our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate effectively as a member of the pharmacy team to deliver comprehensive healthcare services, including the administration of medications to patients.
  • Support the provision of a high-quality pharmaceutical service, focusing on medication management to address identified health disparities.
  • Offer pharmacy-related guidance to patients, healthcare staff, and prison personnel, ensuring that the information provided is tailored to individual needs.
  • Operate autonomously within your area of expertise while serving as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of pharmacy support across various residential units, including advising patients on proper medication usage.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records, both written and electronic, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Identify signs of substance withdrawal and provide support to patients facing addiction challenges, as well as those in distress or at risk of self-harm.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, prison staff, and external organizations through both verbal and written channels.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Successful completion of necessary vetting checks.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in a correctional facility.
  • Background in working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
