Are you an experienced Oncology Care Specialist Nurse looking for a rewarding opportunity?

CK Group is seeking a dedicated Oncology Care Specialist Nurse to join a leading pharmaceutical and life sciences organization. This position involves collaborating closely with designated healthcare facilities and centers, providing comprehensive care within the comfort of patients' residences.

Location:
This is a field-based position covering a designated area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough clinical assessments to determine patients' needs.
  • Facilitate training sessions to ensure patients and/or caregivers can safely self-administer relevant oncology medications, including oral tablets. This encompasses educating patients about the service, medication administration, storage, potential side effects, and necessary actions if side effects occur.
  • Offer continuous support to patients through various support programs, including telephone consultations, clinic visits, and home visits, in accordance with product and client protocols.
  • Evaluate patients' home environments to confirm suitability for home IV oncology treatment, ensuring safety and security, as well as effective communication means.
  • Perform line care for all IV oncology patients, ensuring lines are maintained in a clean and clear condition.
  • Change dressings and provide guidance on line care to patients and caregivers.
  • Administer all IV oncology medications for patients undergoing IV cancer treatment.
  • Review blood results and make informed decisions regarding treatment continuation based on critical levels, liaising with referring consultants regarding any treatment concerns or patient health status.
  • Facilitate blood transfusions for patients or coordinate with qualified nurses for patient visits to deliver transfusions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMC registration.
  • Qualification in chemotherapy administration.
  • Experience in administering oncology medications in either hospital or community settings.
  • Proficient in conducting clinical assessments and administering subcutaneous injections.
  • Experience in managing IV devices and administering IV therapies.
  • Essential clinical skills include clinical assessment, IV injection administration, chemotherapy administration, cannulation, and phlebotomy.
  • Strong knowledge of therapies relevant to the service, including NHS guidelines for managing patients with treated conditions.
